 Christa “Auntie” Smith 

Auntie is a native of Los Angeles, CA. She is from a musical family. Her parents, Pastor Emeritus Charles P. And Lady Evelyn D. Smith were upstanding musicians and vocalists, they taught and trained Auntie, her siblings and many others in music. Auntie’s parents started her and her siblings singing at the tender age of two at their local church, and the family all sang together as a group.  

Under the influence of her parents, Auntie found her main interest-instruments! At the age of six, she started playing drums, she later migrated to the sultry sounds of the piano, organ, guitar and bass guitar and later began teaching and training singers, choirs and musicians at and early age 

Auntie has helped developed many musicians and producers. One group in particular, was comprised of her nephews originally known as the “Lil ShackBand”, they started together as little boys and were well known for their musical styles and voice techniques. Auntie trained them to play multiple instruments, write songs and taught them how to make beats. Some of them are professional musicians, producers, songwriters, artist and have toured with major artist, one of which, Nick Smith is Roddy Ricch’s drummer and three of the other nephews, Garren Edwards has won a Grammy Award singing on Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap album, Greg Edwards has been Grammy nominated as producer on one of the songs on Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo album, “Christopher Brody Brown” has won multiple Grammy Awards as musician, producer and songwriter on Bruno Mars 24K album and Silk Sonic’s Album

Auntie works with four time Grammy Award winner and multi platinum producer/musician, Larrance Dopson, CEO of 1500 or nothing as a music teacher and producer at 1500 Sound Academy, she has given piano lessons to, Saweetie, Roddy Ricch, Dj Mustard, former NBA star, Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat and Jordin Sparks. Auntie has worked in the music industry with Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Charlie Wilson, Mike Epps, Tommie Davidson, Rance Allen, Just Blaze, Dj Quik, Mike Will Made It, “House Of Payne” actor, Lavan Davis. Auntie has produced for Selah, the daughter of Lauren Hill, co produced for the drama called Policy Kings, created by Laurence Fishburne and Larenz Tate, and she has produced music for the television network, Access Hollywood. Auntie opened up and performed singing for Gospel artist , Mary Mary and has played for Gospel artist such as: Twinkie Clark, Dorinda Clark Cole, Kierra Sheard and more, she’s written and produced songs for the Edwin Hawkins Seminar Recording Choir; James Cleveland & the Gospel Music Workshop Choir in their live recordings, and have produced and written songs on numerous albums

Auntie is the founder of Chief Musician Train Me. A non-profit organization which provides music lessons for individuals, artist, groups and bands. She teaches and trains students of all ages to play the organ, piano, drums, guitar, bass, synth, talk box, write lyrics, vocal training and techniques, music composing, production, beat makers and studio engineering, she shares demonstrations and tutorials and specializes in multiple areas such as basic fundamentals, music theory and instructional training.
